What is the “Grand Défi: Building My Region”
The Grand Défi: Building My Region is an activity that aims at getting you to undertake projects that will have an impact on your community and help you to develop entrepreneurial values to make your region your work place. Individually or in teams, you are invited to take this journey into a project management process and commit to:

All students enrolled in a school within Eastern Shores School Board in the Gaspé Coast or Magdalen Islands are eliglble with the exception of the MRC of Haute-Gaspésie and Rocher-Percé. All students enrolled in schools from the Chic-Chocs and René-Lévesque School Boards are eligible as well. You can register your project individually or in a team. There are an unlimited number of participants that can participate.
Eligible projects must meet a need and foster positive impacts within the community. They can lead to the development of a product, a service or an event and they must fit in at least one of the following categories:
Initiated in 2012 by the Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi of the MRC de La Côte-de-Gaspe and the Genesis business incubator of the Adult Education Centre of the Côte-de-Gaspé
The Carrefour Jeunesse Option Emploi Rocher-Percé and the Carrefour Jeunesse-Emploi Avignon-Bonaventure are joining forces with the René-Lévesque School Board to make this experience a reality for all students.
The MRC of the Magdalen Islands joins the adventure
An addition of a regional component in collaboration with Radio-Canada
An addition of an Anglophone component in the MRC of the Côte-de-Gaspe
An addition of the college level in the MRC of the Magdalen Islands
The MRC of Haute-Gaspésie opens Le Grand Défi: Building My Region in the secondary, adult and vocational categories. New Carlisle High School participates in the first bilingual edition in the MRC of Bonaventure.
The Elementary category is added in the MRC of Haute-Gaspésie.
All schools from Eastern Shores School Board in the MRC of Bonaventure and Avignon are invited to participate.
Mentoring is a relationship between a seasoned business person (mentor) and an individual with less experience (mentee) share knowledge. As part of the “Grand défi : Building My Region”, teams wishing to benefit from an inspiring encounter with an accredited Réseau M mentor will be able to meet an entrepreneur. Mentoring represents the opportunity to be supported by a volunteer who is also a seasoned business person.
